Villa Park faced energetic Juggernauts team on a relatively warm afternoon. Villa Park won the toss and with out any hesitation batted first. Zeyad Imtiaz (0) and Mujtaba Baqir (19) opened the innings but disaster struck early as Zeyad was run out in the second over. Mujtaba joined by in-form Sohail Rehmani (13) kept runs flowing but Juggernauts showed discipline in the field took catches when they came. Game was heavily tilted in the favor of Juggernauts after one-third of the innings as VPCC lost top 3 wickets for 38 runs. Haris Imtiaz (70) joined by Fawad Agha (14) began rebuilding process, both batsmen compliment each other very well by running hard and dispatching boundaries when opportunity presented. They established an innings saving 63 runs partnership; Haris was the main contributor as he made full use of the life given to him twice when he was on zero. He was severely harsh on Romesh Janjym’s (3) left arm spin bowling. Haris hung around even when Juggernauts on the other hand spurred a mini collapse. Arsalan Ali (28) stopped the bleeding and helped turned things around with attacking 46 runs 8th wicket partnership. Villa Park was all out in the last over with 177 runs on the board. Juggernauts started their chase on the wrong foot as they lost their captain in the 3rd over to improved Haris Imtiaz (1). Mujtaba Baqir (3) who was given the ball as a first change, delivered big time by claiming heart of the Juggernaut batting order. Fawad Agha (2) also joined Mujtaba in the middle session; Fawad bowled with furious pace and Juggernauts did not have much to answer to his thunderbolts. Several Juggernauts batters got start but no one continued to make the real effort to chase down the average target. Zeyad Imtiaz (3) polished the tail to bundle Juggernauts for 105 runs. Haris Imtiaz claimed man of the match award for his game saving innings and helped VPCC enjoy another great victory this season. |
