Muhammed Ahmed's lethal fast bowling spell destroys Streamwood to a 32 runs defeat

Scorecard

Villa Park geared up to play their first game on Glendale Heights 2 ground against dynamic Streamwood team. Third time in a row Villa Park lost the toss by default and were put in to bat by SWCC stand in captain Hitesh Shah. Haris Imtiaz (52) filled in as an opener with Mujtaba Baqir (7). Haris showed his intention in the early going by getting down the track and lofted some massive shots against disciplined Streamwood bowlers. Mujtaba couldn’t support him for long and oust by Manan Patel (1). Zeyad (12) joined the proceedings but Haris on the other hand twisted his back while attempting a power swing and had to leave the field. Fawad Agha (16) joined Zeyad Imtiaz and two put together and very solid looking partnership. As things were looking relax Streamwood struck in quick successions courtesy of brilliant catching. VPCC middle order crumble; even return of Haris couldn’t salvage much balance to the innings. Sohail Rehmani (14) dented some useful blows in the end as Villa park innings was cut short to 27 overs due to delay caused by VPCC. Total reached 134; which seemed below par for strong SWCC batting line-up.

Villa Park opened their bowling with out the services of usually reliable Haris Imtiaz (due to injury). Muhammed Ahmed (4) teamed up with Fawad Agha (2) to face the willow of some very dangerous batsmen in the league; likes off Manan Patel and Sunny Sharma. Usually effective opening pair of Dhuruv Patel (10) and Abilash Fernandes (10) was kept quiet by VPCC bowlers in the initial going of the innings. Both bowlers took early wickets to put SWCC on the defensive; Manan Patel (13) looked threatening for a while but was caught brilliantly by Mujtaba on the boundary. From here on M. Ahmed Known as Lahori took over the proceedings; as he bowled with furious pace and accuracy to demolish the middle order of the Streamwood line-up. He was very well supported by Zeyad (3), Fawad (2) and Sohail Rehmani (1); not to forget the very tidy fielding show also put up by energetic VPCC team. Sunny Sharma (33*) kept fighting a lone fight for SWCC as no other batsmen could support him and he eventually ran out of partners; as SWCC bundled up for 102 runs.

Muhammed Ahmed was named player of the game for displaying the spell of genuine fast bowling.
