Written by Haris Imtiaz Villa Park met with the reigning champion Streamwood on a hot afternoon. After winning the toss VPCC decided to bat on a small Bolingbrook field. Zeyad Imtiaz and Fawad Agha resumed the opening responsibility and once again did not disappoint. Both openers settled down and played some glorious shots to announce their intentions. Zeyad (42) displayed his usual flare while VPCC leading run getter Fawad Agha (66) was even in better mood. After a strong opening VPCC did not let go of the opportunity and kept scoring runs in chunks. Uzair (35) and Haris Imtiaz (34) provided the bulk of runs in the middle order after a pronounced start. VPCC scored massive 217 runs in 30 overs. Small field and knowing the power of SWCC batting line up, target was a modest one. Streamwood batters just confirmed their capabilities from get go and hammered VPCC dismal bowlers all around the field. VPCC bowling and fielding displayed worse effort than the one in previous game. Several catches were dropped and Dhruv (39) handled the torch to Manu Singh (57) and mighty Manan Patel (50), who trashed VPCC bowlers in every direction. At one point SWCC was looking to get the score in 20 overs. Eventually SWCC reached the target in 26.1 overs with plenty of wickets to spare. VPCC did not know what had hit ‘em, down and out they had no one else but their lack luster bowling and garbage fielding to blame.
